What is Blaze magazine and how did it start?
There seemed to be a lack of Christian Youth magazines in South Africa. So, that’s where the idea to start one came from. Blaze Magazine is an online Christian Youth Magazine linked to Prepare the way magazine, which is distributed throughout Africa. The aim of Blaze Magazine is really to be an uncompromised Christian Youth magazine for all those on fire for Christ or for those who would like to be more fired up. This is just a small beginning, but we are hoping to grow from here on out and maybe go into print one day. (Anyone got a couple, OK more than just a couple, of thousand rand a month spare?) Our online magazine consists of Christian interviews, testimonies, teachings, devotions, columns, reviews, news and awesome competitions. We aim to bring out an issue at the end of every month.
Who is involved with the Magazine?
We get some of our material from other online sources but the main team is (click on the links to get to know them a bit better)
Hannah - The ED and general article rustler
Janine - Feature articles and event coverage
Clint - Writes the column “The defining line”
Brett Fish - Writes the column “Aka the Godfather”
Morkel - Writes the column “The truth booth”
SuperDave - Does the music stuff and also helps out with the website
Do you accept reader contributions?
Definitely!! We are always looking for contributions from you, our readers. So, what are you waiting for: send your letters, poems, photographs, jokes, stories, testimonies, reviews/ recommendations, drawings, your own song lyrics or songs that you have written and recorded and whatever else…and have a chance to share it with the all your fellow on-fire Christians. (And obviously, we are only looking for clean, wholesome stuff here!) And we may organise some prizes for the best ones….

Why is it free?
Simply because we are passionate about what we do and feel it’s a relevant ministry for these modern times. We might be able to print it one day and then it would cost something to buy the magazine but this would cover the cost of the printing rather than pay us anything. If we receive donations or advertising they will go towards paying for the website and expanding it with more bandwidth and space.
Do you accept Adverts and how much does it cost?
Yes we do accept adverts and our rates are very reasonable, again this comes down to us not wanting to make a lot of money. Of course we do screen the adverts and would not put in anything inappropriate to the nature of our magazine. If you are interested contact us on blazemagsa@gmail.com for prices and more information.
How else can I help out?
By spreading the word! Being web based is fantastic for a lot of reasons but one of the big disadvantages is getting the word out especially when you don’t have a big budget, so if you enjoy the magazine then tell your friends about it or post something on your Facebook or Myspace page.
