Papa? Is that his real surname?

I'll get back to you on that one but it seems that it might just be.

So what's the deal with him?

Well he's a worship leader but because he's independent we get some pretty strong material that touches subjects usually avoided by others.

For Example?

His latest album has a couple of real gems. One is "Woe to you", a song that kind of nails a few indictments on the doors of the modern church, another is "Where is the difference?" questioning the ways in which the bride has got herself a little dirty in recent times.

Is it all prophetic doom and gloom then?

Not at all! He clearly loves the Lord and most of the songs are enthusiastic praise and exhortation. Even those that have a point to make are done with the intention of pointing out problems so they can be changed and we can worship God more freely.

And what is the music like?

Brilliant. It's similar to Lincoln Brewster or Tree63 so plenty of rocky guitars and I love the musical arrangements which go beyond what you'd usually expect from someone writing songs of worship.
