TBC - Continuing The Message of the Gospel Forever

TBC are British Girl Band and the recently made their first overseas visit as a band ...right here, to Sunny SA.
We had the chance to have a quick chat with them about themselves, their band; their new album and their trip

Q: So, maybe you could just start off by introducing yourselves
l_10b344a952721c9a7b462a58942c4179
I'm Meg
I'm Lucy
I'm Natalie
I'm Rachel

Q: Could you tell us the story behind TBC and how the band was formed?
Natalie: Well, we all auditioned. We worked at an organisation called Innervation Trust and we had to audition to be in the band. Yeah, then they put us all in the band
together.
Innervation Trust is basically a Christian Organisation that creates bands that can be used for evangelism and going around the UK and into schools

Q: So, did you know each other at all before the band?
Lucy: No, we didn't actually. We all auditioned and so they just put us together. Thankfully, we all get on really, really well and have a lot of fun.

Q:What does the name TBC stand for and why did you choose it as the name of the band?
l_ef3056ff9d0a3b819439bf35bc1741d0Natalie: It stands for "To be Continued" because no matter who is in the band; the line-up may keep changing, but the ministry of telling kids about God will keep going; it's not gonna stop.

Q: And what's the vision of TBC; what motivates you to do what you do?

Lucy: Well, I think, for us, we've just found an amazing friendship in God and we just think it's amazing and we wanna tell as many kids as possible about who God is and I think a lot of people think that being a Christian is boring.; well, especially in England. But it's amazing and we just wanna go out there and tell them.

Q: So, you do a lot of concerts in prisons and schools?

Natalie: We do, we mainly go around primary schools in the UK. That's mainly what we do; we'll do assemblies and sometimes dance workshops and such...occasionally we do secondary schools and we have been doing them in South Africa

Q: Would you like to tell us a little bit about your latest album; "Talk of the Town"?
Rachel: We brought it out last November, it was launched in
l_0c141dac0c8c47d843aad03705eec0adManchester. We did a tour leading up to it of 44 Primary Schools, which was pretty cool. Since it's been launched, we've been touring with it all around the UK really and here in South Africa

Q: And do you have any personal favourite songs on the album?
I think we all have our own ones
Rachel: "Faithful" is mine
Natalie: I quite like "We'll keep on Dancing"
Lucy: "I will always love you"
Meg: One of the songs on the album is quite slow; it's called "Beautiful" and I think its...beautiful

Q:How did you all become Christians; were you brought up in Christian homes?
Natalie: Pretty much all of us were brought up in Christian families. Through different experiences we found God and He's just changed our lives.

Q: So, let's move onto South Africa... have you been enjoying your visit here?
Natalie: My goodness, it's amazing! We went on Safari and that was amazing; wasn't it?
Lucy: Yeah, We stroked a cheetah
Meg: And we played with the baby lions...it was so cool
Natalie: The schools too, were absolutely amazing...they were huge schools. Most of them were over a thousand and they were just so open about their Faith in God which you don't see in England and it was really encouraging

Q: And do you have any particular highlights that stand out for you on the tour?

Natalie: I think...we did a concert at Moreleta Park
l_3fe936786faa703d306bf2c2e5b5b6adChurch. That was a lot of fun, there were loads of kids there. We also performed at Living Word Church and that was just amazing; there were about 400 kids there and some of them had never been to church before. It was great...we got to share the Gospel with them and we had a bit of a party

Q: So, have you had the opportunity to travel to other countries?
Natalie: Well, this is our first time outside the UK in this lineup. In February, we are actually going to America for about 3 weeks...we are very excited about that.

Are you hoping to come back to South Africa soon?

Meg: Oh, definitely!
Lucy: We love it so much...We love the weather
Natalie: Hopefully next year, we're hoping...so, we'll see!

Q: That's great...so, what other Christian artists do you enjoy and find inspiration from?
Natalie: We work with a band called Blush and I think they're fantastic; I love their music
Meg: I love Hillsongs and Hillsong United

Q: What are your hopes and aspirations for the future of the band?
Lucy: I think to tell as many people as we can about God and to travel to loads of other
countries.
Meg: Hawaii, would be nice!
Natalie: To see as many people as possible...

Q:Would you like to leave any final messages to people who will read this?
Lucy: Our main thing as a band is to tell people that God loves them, no matter what and if they're ever feeling down or even happy... that they can turn to God and He'll
always be there

Ok, thank you and I hope you enjoy the rest of you trip here
Oh we will, we're loving it
