No one can deny that Rebecca St James has had a huge impact on the Christian music industry and that she has been exceedingly successful…she is both a Grammy Award and multiple Dove Award winner and has sold millions of albums.But, aside from her numerous musical accolades, as impressive as they are, Rebecca will always stand out to me because of the that she is such a positive role-model to millions of young girls and that she always been a strong promoter of purity and saving sex for marriage. She is someone who really uses the platform given to her to reach out and make a difference.

She doesn’t just talk the talk, but walks the walk and with this book she hopes to encourage young girls, the target market of this book, to do the same.Rebecca already has 6 books to her name and her book, “Wait for Me” has, to date, sold more than 100 000 copies and “Pure” is an excellent new addition to her already established authorship portfolio.

This 90-day devotional is not just about purity in the way of sexual purity, but it goes deeper and is about being pure in all areas of your life- body, spirit and mind. It is divided into 3 sections- “Purity of Mind”; “Purity of Body” and “Purity of Spirit” each consisting of 30 devotions. Each devotion has a theme and starts with a scripture; then a reflection on the scripture; looking further into the theme and then how you can practically live out the lesson in your life. The practical aspect is an excellent addition as it is of little use to tell the reader all these things when they don’t actually know how to apply it and include it in their lives. Themes include: “ Who determines your worth?”; “Removing the Mask”; “Looking for Love”; “Modest is Hottest”; “The Romance of Waiting”; “Real Love” and “No Secrets”

Rebecca reveals deep, personal insights and feelings into the book even about personal issues such as her own desire to be married and start a family and how she is still waiting for the right man and has learnt to be content in her singleness and trust the Lord.I would have to say that this is probably one of the best books ever written for young women and girls to read and will probably lead you through the most inspiring, challenging and life-changing 90 days of your life if you really take it’s messages to heart and apply them in your life.
I was really excited about this book; I read the whole thing and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

So, do I recommend it? Well, if you haven’t caught the hint yet…here’s the simply summary…YES! GET YOURSELF ONE AS SOON AS YOU CAN! There you go…nice and clear. And I would like to salute Rebecca and co-writer Dale Reeves on a fantastic book which sends out a completely true message; contrary to most of the other messages sent out by a lot of other people today.
